About Me:
Here are my posts to two blogs I've participated in. One is from NPR's Talk of the Nation from march 26 and the other is a NYT blog on whether SNL has turned Pro-Clinton:

NPR: Talk of the Nation
Senator Clinton should run her campaign for as long as she feels she needs to even though I disagree with her attacks on Senator Obama. Senator Clinton does not seem to care if her scorched earth campaign and her attacks on her rival hurt the party because her run for the presidency seems to be all about her. Senator Obama's campaign however seems to me to be more about the American people and creating lasting change in the United States. It's a tremendously exciting election and possibly the closest thing to having three party system that I've seen in my lifetime and I'm astounded at how well Senator Obama has managed a positive campaign despite the negativity from the Clinton camp.

NYT: Pro-Clinton? ‘SNL’ Says You’re Joking
SNL "pro-Clinton"? Not beyond the pale. NYT "pro-Clinton"? Fact. The Clinton campaign couldn't have paid for better advertising before the primaries here than the NYT video "Hillary Clinton's Pennsylvania Roots". Clinton's foreign policy experience? A powerful speech in China. Speaking out for what you believe to be right is a powerful act. Combine that with sound judgment, profound wisdom, and a strong campaign ethic that seeks to unify the Democratic party and we will win the White House and bring this country around. Gen. Merrill “Tony” McPeak got it right when he said of Barack, “Whenever that phone rings at 3 a.m. you want a guy with this kind of temperament to answer that.” Superior judgement, superior leadership.

A NYT blog from today 3/29:
The Early Word: For the Good of the Party
The row over Senator Clinton supporters lining up behind Senator Obama demonstrates his ability to fulfill his campaign promise and bring change to Washington. The Clintons have a hard time coming to grips with the fact that they do not wield any sort of entitlement to the White House. Of course they have a legion of alliances in Washington - the breaking up of which is exactly the sea change promised by Senator Obama and a signal that another generation is coming of age. The old guard is looking at their sunset.

If James Carville wants to insult Bill Richardson for "turning on" Clinton then so be it. Who after all deserves greater loyalty - the Clintons or the people of the United States? Let the race go on and the votes be counted and we'll see who prevails. If you believe Christianity then the world never would have been saved without Judas playing his part. So good job Bill Richardson because I can't think of a greater salvation than helping bring an end to the Bush-Clinton legacy and making way for new hope in America's future.

The Philadelpia Speech

Senator Barack Obama's Philadelphia Speech is getting the literary world fired up for eight years of words to chew on. Here are three posts about his use of the William Faulkner quote:

A Dead Horse Sure Can Run

The United States is facing a reckoning with racism and an Obama run for the White House is hastening that movement. America is ready for it. Racism is a dead horse. Although, like many diseases, it can not be fully eradicated we can inoculate ourselves and our children against it to limit those that are made sick by it. In that vein I have hope that during an Obama Presidency, possibly during a second term, Obama would offer an apology for slavery on behalf of the United States. "For all the h… Continue

Barack Obama, on the job and reaching out

I saw a carefully crated and successful photo in the New York Times by photographer Doug Mills. The photograph shows Obama bellied up at a bar in Raleigh, NC flanked by two bearded dudes in worn t-shirts. In the background is an attractive woman who appears to be taking notes, a fella in an oxford grabbing a digital photo and more onlookers. Our hopeful Democratic nominee wearing a tie and white shirt with his sleeves rolled up nurses a beer. In the foreground is a bottle of Makers Mark whiskey.… Continue

Second Post on the Daily Kos

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/4/29/04152/2344/326/505125 My first diary yesterday the Clintoncrats posed a question - what should Obama supporters do if Hillary steals the nomination? How could she do it? If Obama leads in pledged delegates at the end of the race and Hillary does not concede persisting with her argument that she has the popular vote and the superdelegates (the supreme court of the DNC apparently) award her the nomination concluding that she is more electable than th… Continue

May 10th, Massive 50 State Voter Registration

We have to get behind the Obama campaign's Vote for Change Drive a massive 50 state voter registration push that will take place on May 10th. The country will take notice of how large a movement Barack Obama has built. We must do something to actively show our support for Senator Obama's presidential bid or Hillary Clinton is going to perform a coup and swipe this nomination unless we secure it before we reach the convention. I won't be able to rest until Obama has the nomination in hand.… Continue

My mind is a little groggy after coming off of night shift but I need to unload a bit. I've read in a few places now that Senator Obama has a lead in delegates that Hillary Clinton simply can't surpass. Until Barack Obama has the nomination in hand it is going to be difficult for me to rest. Though the Clintons have no qualms about beating up on him to prove how tough they are the Obama campaign pledged not to change a strategy that has taken them this far. Clearly, however, the combined Republi… Continue
